Mozart — Abendempfindung

Mozart Lieder and lyrics, performed by

Jan Vermeulen and Anne Cambier – music performance
Tom Van Bauwel – actor–narrator
Warre Borgmans – actor–narrator

Tonight, we’re taking you on a journey through Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s life. Lieder, arias, piano pieces, excerpts from letters and other texts of Mozart’s era will try to reflect the atmosphere and the ambience of this genius’s short life.

You’ll notice that the quality of this exceptional talent essentially depended on the goodwill of his patrons and surroundings. The jealousy of his competitors (but certainly not Salieri, who even taught Mozart’s son), the pressure, the whims of highly placed persons, the continuous travelling and many more must have contributed to Mozart having a very stressful life.

The music is optimistic and sometimes contrasts sharply with the difficult life this composer must have suffered, causing perhaps his unfortunate early death.

Shows in Dutch, German

With Tom Van Bauwel (actor, narrator)/Jobs Snibbe, Anne Cambier, Jan Vermeulen (piano forte).
