I Justiniani

The ensemble I Justiniani wants to present itself as an ambassador of baroque and classical music. Its variable baroque basso continuo (harpsichord, organ, theorbo, gamba, lute, baroque guitar) enables the ensemble to take a relatively deep plunge into the artistic repertoire of the 17th and first half of the 18th century.

With the recent expansion of its historical string section (natural horns and oboes) the ensemble guarantees high quality performances.

The baroque instruments that are played are copies of historical ones – a conditio sine qua non for the musicians to bring to life the scores in the most authentic way possible, and to recreate the acoustic image of the composer as faithfully as possible. I Justiniani does not intend to interpret the sheet music merely literally, but also in spirit. The classical instruments are primarily of Italian origin.
